One Saturday morning we woke up and told the kids to pack a few things, wear their swimsuits and get in the car. We didn’t go on any vacations this summer, and knew we were overdue for some fun family time. We headed to Wrightsville beach because we heard so many wonderful things about it, but discovered it was just another crowded touristy beach. After spending the day with a thousand other people, we wandered up North and ended up in Topsail. We found a cute little motel and spent the next day on a beautiful softsanded beach with fun waves, just the right amont of wind for kite flying, and only a few familes. It was great to get away.

Case you hadn’t noticed we moved to a new format and blog system. Still tweeking the templates and such and this will start showing up as wall posts to Rob’s Facebook as well to simplify things. Sorry for the hassle.

I asked Ethan which theme we should have.

“Do you mean background?”

“Well yes, but also the colors of the letters and stuff”

“I want one with cat in a doorway and text at the bottom that says, ‘yea cats!’”

Such specific tastes. Having all these computers at home has really changed these kids. I still don’t know what to make of all the boys from Gordon up getting their own Macbooks from school.

Ethan said, “I want apples.” So we have apples for now.
