Snow in Tucson?

Monday, January 2nd, 2006

I realized we didn’t post any of our snow pictures from Tucson. Yes, there is snow on Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, Arizona. Actually, they get snow every year and there is skiing. We didn’t ski while we lived there, but we did tube and play in the snow.

Winter 2003, we went with our neighbors, the Thompsons. Here’s Nick and Ben tubing down a hill on top of Mt. Lemmon.
And here is Gordon, not having too great of a time. I think he fell down. He cried most of the time.

We all slid down the hill, even mom and Ethan (7 months). Didn’t we make a great fort? The sand bags were already there. We put them to good use with a big snow ball fight.Winter 2004
This time we went by ourselves and didn’t tube. There were snow angels, snowmen, and snowball fights. I really couldn’t tell you what Nick’s doing here. I think he was sliding off a cliff.

The funniest thing we did was make these snowmen and stick them on the front of our Caravan. A daddy and baby. As we were driving home, parts of them would fall off. We all thought it was funny, but Ben (7 years old) cried the whole time, and wailed when an eye or a head fell off the snowmen. When we got home I had to use what was left to make a new snowman and put him in the freezer.
